Introducing: Sara Bella

For anyone who's been a long time reader, you may recognise the name 'ChildxChaos', but you may not know about the genius behind it that is Sara. Sara's been perfecting her craft over time alongside first her degree and now her masters (girl boss or what?) and it's telling. Her style is bright, bold and anything but basic. What does this mean? It means that she's someone to keep an eye on. After I returned from Sydney, we got back in touch and started working on a collaboration, and I had to share it with you guys. We worked on three looks that were all super different and yet still so striking thanks to Sara's makeup.

"The suit is very masculine, big and bulky, but then Ambika added the very old-fashioned pastel boots, so she was going for a juxtaposition. The makeup had to compliment this, and that’s where the bold ombre pink lip came in. Too many are afraid of bright colours on the lip so I wanted to show how it compliments the look beautifully. To compliment the sharp suit, I made sure it was applied super precisely. The glitter line under the eyebrow makes the look youthful and fun- it’s different and it highlights Ambika’s sculpted bone structure."

Our first look was about balancing masculinity and femininity through contrasting an outfit and it's complementary make-up. This suit is sharp shouldered and oversized, and Sara came up with the idea of contrasting this with a brighter and more feminine makeup look. The pink lip she chose complimented the blue tone boots that I paired with the suit. I focused on a monochromatic accessory look, choosing to feed into the masculine theme by using a traditionally masculine colour: blue. I'm a huge fan of a mushroom-duck egg blue colour combination and paired with the bright pink and sparkly eyes, it's a striking look that can be worn again and again.

"I’ve always loved daring makeup and when Ambika sent over the description of the leather look she had in mind, I instantly knew we needed a bold eye, so I went to Versace AW19 for a reference. Messy hair, neon orange on the inner and outer corners of the eyes, and a light glossy lip compliment the ultra-leather look."

This is by far my favourite look. I've been in love with the all leather look for a while but I won't say too much about the outfit as it's featured in another blog post! The makeup look for this was also a hit with me as the way that Sara did the eyeshadow is something that could be applied to any eyeshadow colour. The placement of the colour being saturated in the inner corner and outer corner meant that the eye was lengthened and looked a lot brighter and bigger.

"The trench coat look and marble bag are super feminine, although the snake print instantly gives the look a bit of edge. I therefore wanted to reference that femininity and “elegant chic” note by doing an eyeliner, but also salute that fierce print by adding green flicks to the bold black line. The fact the eyeliner is slightly raised from the eye adds to that 'everyday but daring' look."

This look was all about being bold. Trench coats are really in this season so I wanted to make sure that I had a trench coat piece in here, and this snake print was perfect for the bold look that Sara wanted to compliment with her makeup idea! The shoes brought out the neon tones that were reflected in the coat, and the bag further brought this out. Neon was a HUGE summer trend and it's still quite a micro-trend for AW19, so accessories and prints are a perfect way to introduce a pop of colour into your wardrobe without committing too much. The eye-makeup that Sara did was equally as bold to the trench coat, and the negative space that she created with her wing was a fun twist on a usual feline flick: a sparkly version of this could be the perfect pairing to a festive party dress.
