Prints: Double Trouble

May 15, 2017

I'm not usually one to go for clashing colours or prints but I'm starting to enjoy being able to mix up patterns here and there! Here I kept it simple with pinstriped culottes, and a more out-there, statement t-shirt.

I would say that pinstripes are quite a failsafe way of mixing prints as they're so minimal, and not too 'out-there', so for print mixing newbies, I would definitely try mixing pinstripes with other prints such as gingham, bolder stripes, and spots.

For more adventurous print-mixers out there, try mixing 60s-eque prints, or 90s-esque prints such as florals and checks. To help tie in a mix of prints, pick out items that have complementary colours or the same colour for a more monochromatic look.
