Whilst the East Asian trend was bigger during early to mid spring, it's still a trend I find myself turning back to quite often. The gorgeous prints on the western take on kimonos and palazzo trousers are so pretty, and I can't help but want to wear those pieces.
Here, I paired these incredibly colourful palazzo trousers with this more muted oyster-coloured top. As the trousers are so busy, I didn't want to take attention away from them yet at the same time, I didn't want a completely plain or simple top- I wanted to complement the uniqueness of the trousers with something equally unique. The tie back of this top was perfect for that- especially in the 34 degree heat of London that day.
The trousers are made of a crepe material and the halterneck of a satin-like material, so each enhances the other. Halternecks' can help to elongate your profile by drawing attention to your neck, and so when teamed with long flowy trousers such as these, they can help to make sure that you're not 'swallowed up', so to speak, by the width and length of the trousers.
(Apologies for the poor photo quality! Needed a full outfit picture though.)
Although you can't see them too much here, I decided to go with white, flat backless mules as my shoes. They were easy going and comfortable, which is exactly what I needed in the not so comfortable heat.
This top actually had a peplum style bottom, but I got around that by tucking it into the high waistline of the trousers.
To finish, I added these dragon earrings. I love how detailed they are, and they emphasised the east asian feel of the outfit. Long or statement earrings are a great way of accessorising when wearing halterneck tops, as to make sure your neckline isn't overly cluttered with necklaces or chokers, and again, help to elongate your neck, and thus profile.
Trousers: ZARA (They just do the BEST palazzo's)
Whilst it's lovely being able to purchase east asian inspired prints in high street stores, I'm sure they're nothing compared to the real thing! East Asia is somewhere I definitely want to visit at some point, so if you have anywhere you recommend going to, do comment below!
