It’s been a long, long, long, time since I last got down to writing. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to, I’ve just been caught up in, well, life. The past few months have been CRAZY and there have been a lot of changes in my life: not least to say that I moved city! Yes indeed, I’ll be in Sydney for a year now and so the majority of the past few months have just been the run up to that, with exams, goodbyes and relaxing in between. However, now settled, I really have no excuse and I’ve found I want to be writing more and I want to update the look of my blog too, so that’s a couple of changes! Say goodbye to that horrible landing page- thank god. Anyway, I’ve been rambling (a section I’ve added in, if you ever fancy getting to ‘know’ me better) so I best get to the actual post.
Animal prints have been plastered all over IG lately: it started off quite muted with the safari trend, and now it’s a fully fledged separate trend that stands on its own. Whilst I was pretty skeptical about the trend at first, I’ve found one print I’ve actually found myself reaching for has been a leopard print. Now, I’m not one for a fan of realistic looking prints/actual furs, but I have to say a simplified two tone print can look really classy and really fun when paired with the right thing!
I picked up this miniskirt from Topshop, and I _love_ it. Its two-tone print keeps it looking illustrative and stops it from looking gaudy, and as it’s denim it’s very easy to wear comfortably. What I’ve seen is although some of the silkier pieces are lovely, it’s a lot harder to wear them on a casual, every day basis and they’re definitely better for IG or fancy occasions.
