So I've been super slack with this blog as of late. Whilst I've been trying to keep my Instagram updated, I've been not so good with what ACTUALLY matters and what I'm ACTUALLY passionate about, and that's this! I think I had this preconception that in order to style clothes and give my ideas on how to style things, I needed to be wearing items and so I'd backlog lots of ideas, waiting to see when I can purchase items that I wanted to style.

But as all students know, this isn't feasible. My student budget barely covers my rent, let alone a whole new wardrobe every time a new trend comes parading through town (which thanks to instagram is pretty much every month). So I'm switching up the style of my posts: sure when I've worn something and styled it, I'll be able to write a blog post on it, but I also want to start writing more and that means posts similar to this one!

Neons have been around for a while now, and their popularity only seems to be on the rise thanks to fast fashion brands like Missguided and PLT churning out the trend. I was a bit apprehensive at first: sometimes it can look pretty gaudy, but I think Instagram exposure as with most things has led to an acceptance of the trend.

To keep the look clean, I'd definitely style a smaller neon piece with some sharp suiting separates.

The contrast of the oversized blazer with some tailored pants means the neon is kept classy, and becomes an accent piece within the outfit. I'm personally more of a fan of using monochromatic base with brighter colours like neons to keep it from becoming over the top.

Add a pair of angular sunglasses and either some dad sneakers or a strappy heel and you're good to go!
